This week at MoveBeyond we explored movements in our thoracic spine (ribs) versus lumbar and neck movements. We spoke about thoracic spine needing mobility and lumbar and neck areas needing stability, and practiced micro-movements to mobilise the area of the mid-ribs.
We also did lots of stretching of a muscle called the External Oblique and did pendulum stretches and contractions of this very important muscle that moves us in three planes of motion. Many of us felt the stretch all the way into the hip as well as in the ribs.
