This week, we are looking at feet.
Did you know that there are lots of little muscles connecting the various small bones in the feet, called Intrinsic foot muscles? They help make our foot fantastically stable by responding to changes in surface and pressure.
Try this: place your foot on the floor and move the big toe up without moving the rest of the toes, then all the other toes up without moving the big toe. That can be really hard!
We did some exercises to mobilise the feet muscles and then reassessed toe mobility and overall posture. Many of us could feel an immediate change in how grounded they felt.
The brain has an area devoted to representation of each individual body part, including our feet, and feet are pretty important to our brain. By mobilising the feet and getting greater awareness of them, your overall mobility can improve.
