Persistent back pain can have several reasons, but it is worth knowing that once pain becomes chronic, our nervous system becomes overactive and sensitised. This in itself increases our sensitivity to any existing discomfort, creating a cycle of pain and more sensitivity and more pain.
Some helpful solutions?
Gentle mindful movement provides increased positive feedback into our nervous system which will very likely have a calming effect on overstimulated pain receptors and decrease our negative sensations.
Good breathing practice will have another key benefit in that it promotes feelings of relaxation and well-being as well as synchronises the work of our core muscles.
