Keep Moving with Osteoarthritis

Updated: Oct 3, 2020

Osteoarthritis, a joint wear-and-tear condition that is often accompanied by stiffness and pain, responds well to moderate intensity low impact exercise.

When joints' cartilage thins or wears away, bone can start rubbing on bone, causing uncomfortable symptoms. However rest tends to promote stiffness, whilst exercise improves circulation around the joints in turn increasing mobility.

Pilates is a great way of getting quality movement for people impacted by osteoarthritis as it is a non impact activity and has focus on placing joints in the most optimal way.
